Today I went into Arteni store with only single goal: find a real “war” outfit to face the next days of work, which seems to be very intense.
Of course, from the photos you might think I’m too elegant in my personal “battle” outfit, but the details are hidden in this unsuspecting MaxMara trench.
The trench coats have an interesting story and this puts its foundations in places very far from the magazines: these garments were in fact the raincoats used by army officers in the trenches, to which they owe their name. Light and functional, they were certainly more suitable than wool coats in damp and muddy environments.
But what made them a classic and inevitable item in every wardrobe? A question that is not so difficult to answer: they are undoubtedly a garment studied in every detail, designed to make our aspect proud and distinct. Here’s what the trench owes its timeless appeal.
The traditional color would be khaki, typical of military environments, but the most recent versions allows you to choose between different shades. The MaxMara trench I’ve chosen is part of the new collection and it’s a perfect light blue color to combine with both formal and casual jeans clothing. If worn open it creates a wide fit, ideal for a casual look, while as in my case, using its belt it accentuates your waist in an elegant way. I have combined a white blouse with a clover pattern and sand-colored trousers, both chosen from MaxMara brand.
I then found a perfect black Coccinelle bag, big enough to comfortably contain everything I need for business meetings and elegant leather pumps by Guess. With this winning outfit, I’m ready to face any situation!
